What is Project 535?

"Project 535" is a group of volunteer women from all walks of life united by their passion to give a face and voice on Capitol Hill to the half-million members of Concerned Women for America . Every month when the 535 members of Congress are in session, these ladies commute to Washington, D.C., to lobby. While here, our spirited "Project 535" members travel in pairs to meet with congressmen and their staffers and urge them to act on legislation that will strengthen America's families.
"Project 535" is a group of trained volunteers who, as a whole, are able to tackle from between 40 and 70 congressional offices in a day! These ladies fearlessly speak with the member or his staff to discuss a particular piece of pro-family legislation.
When "Project 535" volunteers walk into a congressional office, they represent all the CWA members in that congressman's district. To prepare for this responsibility, "Project 535" members undergo training at our yearly "Project 535" Training Seminar, where they receive a manual filled with tips on how to lobby effectively. In addition, they receive instruction from experienced lobbyists as well as congressional staffers for an "insider's" perspective. We pair new members with a more experienced "Project 535" volunteer who shows them how to lobby successfully. Finally, they will gain the confidence you need to participate in a conversation with Congress on issues of importance to the family. With these tools you will gain the confidence you need to participate in a conversation with Congress on issues of importance to the family.
