CWA of California Culture Conference Focuses on Culture War, Illegal Immigration

Arcadia, CA – Concerned Women for America (CWA) of California held a Culture Conference at the Fairmont Newport Beach in southern California on January 25-26, 2008. The conference brought together more than 100 concerned citizens from throughout the state to hear from nationally recognized speakers on issues concerning the steady moral decline of our culture and the ramifications of illegal immigration.

Speaking on the issues of the culture war and the increasing moral relativism in our society were Concerned Women for America's President Wendy Wright, CWA’s Policy Director for Cultural Issues, Matt Barber, and author of The Marketing of Evil and Vice President of WorldNetDaily.com, David Kupelian. Mr. Kupelian demonstrated how evil "is packaged, perfumed and gift-wrapped."

The illegal immigration crisis was thoroughly addressed by three conference speakers. Founder and President of NumbersUSA.com Roy Beck provided sound statistics to show that our national sovereignty is at risk owing to uncontrolled illegal immigration. Mr. Beck explained how our country's education, health care, and financial systems are being drained by illegal aliens, thus impacting the day to day lives of citizens and legal residents.

Michael Cutler, Fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies, spoke of the fraud and terrorist activity associated with illegal immigration. "Former INS Special agent Michael Cutler educated conference attendees with such eye-opening stories of how illegal immigration impacts every day life even in areas such as marriage fraud," stated Phyllis Nemeth, State Director of CWA of CA. "Cutler compared the well-known Rosenberg spy case to that of Hezbollah-connected Nadim Prouty, whose sham marriage enabled her to eventually become an FBI as well as a CIA employee!"

KRLA radio talk show host and Townhall.com columnist Kevin James was an engaging speaker, stating that “illegal invasion” is a more accurate term for the unfettered illegal immigration occurring at our unsecured borders.

State Senator Tom Harman (R-Huntington Beach) was recognized for his dedicated service and legislative work in promoting traditional family values, protecting children and addressing the problem of illegal immigration in California. After Mrs. Penny Harrington, Legislative Director, announced the CWA of CA Legislator of the Year 2007 Award, the Senator expressed appreciation for CWA's support of his work and efforts in Sacramento.
