Crouse Releases Resource Paper on Obamanomics 5/20/2010

Washington, D.C. — Dr. Janice Shaw Crouse, Senior Fellow at Concerned Women for America’s Beverly LaHaye Institute, just released her paper, “Obamanomics: Summary of the Analyses and Commentary Related to the Financial Impact of ObamaCare on Women and Families.” Crouse reviewed articles and commentaries written by economic and financial experts to summarize their findings and opinions in a 36-page paper, documented with four pages of footnotes and a five-page Executive Summary.

The paper includes three graphs of original research based on U.S. Bureau of Census data.

• Figure 1 illustrates the change in distribution of child poverty which, according to Dr. Crouse, “illustrates the impact of policies that ramp up the subsidies promoting single motherhood and discouraging marriage.”

• Figure 2 illustrates the Congressional Budget Office Estimates of National Healthcare Expenditures. Dr. Crouse explains, “ObamaCare will increase national health care spending by $311 billion over the next decade.”

• Figure 3 illustrates the Federal Government Debt Held by the Public 1994-2020. Dr. Crouse added, “This year the national debt will reach 63 percent of the Gross Domestic Product.” Economists consider 90 percent debt-to-GDP ratio a crisis, yet Crouse reports that economists predict 100 percent debt-to-GDP by sometime between 2019 and 2022.

Crouse concludes, “ObamaCare is an unprecedented takeover of the nation’s health care in a process that disregarded the overwhelming opposition of the American public. Economists believe that the side effects of ObamaCare will be catastrophic for individual Americans and the nation. Most Americans believe that ObamaCare will drive up costs and reduce the quality of American medical care.”
