CWA of Missouri Presents the Freedometer Award to Outstanding State Legislators

A Special Thank You to Each One of These Outstanding Legislators!


Sen. Jane Cunningham (R-7) receives Concerned Women for America of Missouri’s Freedometer Award for SJR39. This proposed constitutional amendment provides that no law shall compel a patient, employer, or health care provider to participate in any government or privately run health care system, nor prohibit a patient or employer from paying directly for legal health care services. Presenting the award are Bev Ehlen, State Director CWA of Missouri and Elise Kostial, Founder Concerned Young Women for America.


Sen. Scott Rupp (R-2) receives Concerned Women for America of Missouri’s Freedometer Award for SJR 49. This proposed constitutional amendment provides that no law, regulation or rule shall compel, directly or indirectly, any person, employer, health care provider, or entity to provide coverage…, if such medical services are contrary to the moral, ethical or religious beliefs or tenets of such person, employer, health care provider, or entity. Presenting the award are Bev Ehlen, CWA of Missouri State Director and Elise Kostial, Founder Concerned Young Women for America.


Sen. John Lamping (R-24) receives Concerned Women for America of Missouri’s Freedometer Award for SB749 which would protect the religious liberties of Missouri citizens. SB749 states in part …”No employee, self-employed person, or any other person shall be compelled to obtain coverage for, or be discriminated against or penalized for declining or refusing coverage for, abortion, contraception, or sterilization in a health plan if such items or procedures are contrary to the religious beliefs or moral convictions of such employee or person.” Presenting the award are Debra Kohl, Field Coordinator- CWA Missouri, and Elise Kostial, Founder Concerned Young Women for America.


Rep. Stanley Cox (R-118) receives Concerned Women for America of Missouri’s Freedometer Award for HB1730 which would establish protections for the religious beliefs and moral convictions of certain persons and entities regarding specified health care coverage. Presenting the award are Bev Ehlen, State Director CWA of Missouri and Elise Kostial, Founder Concerned Young Women for America.

Rep. Paul Curtman receives CWA of Missouri’s Freedometer Award for filing HJR 64 which “proposes a constitutional amendment prohibiting any person, employer, or health care provider from being compelled to participate in any health care system.”

Presenting the award are Bev Ehlen, CWA of Missouri State Director and Elise Kostial, founder of Concerned Young Women for America of Missouri.

Rep. David Sater receives CWA of Missouri’s Freedometer Award for HB 1075 which “prohibits a licensed pharmacy from being required to carry or maintain in inventory any specific prescription or nonprescription drug or device.”

Speaker Pro Tem Shane Schoeller receives CWA of Missouri’s Freedometer Award for co-sponsoring HB 1541 which “specifies that anyone providing or participating in a medical service cannot be required to participate in a service if it violates his or her conscience or principles.”

Rep. Rick Brattin receives CWA of Missouri’s Freedometer Award from Elise Kostial and Debra Kohl for HB 1109 which “prohibits any state or local governmental entity or public building, place, or setting from banning or restricting the practice, mention, celebration, or discussion of any federal holiday.”

Rep. Tim Jones receives CWA of Missouri’s Freedometer Award from Elise Kostial and Debra Kohl for Sponsoring HB 1541 which "specifies that anyone providing or participating in a medical service cannot be required to participate in a service if it violates his or her conscience or principles."
