Judge Roberts: Worthy of Confirmation 9/15/2005 Washington, D.C.—Concerned Women for America (CWA) pays tribute to Judge John Roberts for proving himself eminently qualified to become America’s next Supreme Court Chief Justice.
Roberts has upheld his reputation as a man of integrity and intellect throughout the scrutiny of this week’s questioning by the Senate Judiciary Committee. Despite much probing from the Left, Roberts did not compromise his role as judge by answering questions that could come before the courts. He instead maintained dignity and credibility by answering only appropriate questions that would not interfere with the position of Chief Justice if he is confirmed.
America has witnessed that Judge Roberts possesses the credentials and character needed in our country’s highest court. Nothing less than an “aye” vote is satisfactory for such a qualified candidate.
“Everything I know convinces me that Judge Roberts was born to be Chief Justice of the United States,” said Jan LaRue, CWA’s Chief Counsel. “If Senate Judiciary Committee members list the qualifications for a chief justice, and honestly and fairly rate him, how can they not vote for him?”
