Quote: Senator John McCain (R-Arizona)
Our Republican base is frustrated by scandal, corruption on spending, and our putting power over principle. Most of America shares our conservative philosophy. We've just deviated from it.
Response: Wendy Wright, CWA President
The unrelenting stream of scandals had an effect on voters. I hope this will be a "lesson learned" from the 2006 election - to steer clear of temptations. We can always wish.
Response: Janice Crouse, Director and Senior Fellow of CWA's Beverly LaHaye Institute
Senator McCain has bought into the left's stereotypes. Yes, Americans cherish conservative values and the right embodies those principles far more than the left. There is too much corruption in all of politics, and if anything good comes out of the election it will be to clean up the corruption, but it is blatantly unfair for the left's "pot" to the calling the right's "kettle" black!
