House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-California, has been presented legislative wish lists from a host of liberal advocacy groups. Matt Barber, CWA’s Policy Director for Cultural Issues, says that ten pro-homosexual bills, including the Employment Nondiscrimination Act and Hate Crimes, are among those likely to see a swift advance to the House floor, since Speaker Pelosi is co-sponsoring them. Other measures include bills to provide domestic partner benefits for federal employees, ending the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy, and expanding the Family Medical Leave Act to include same-sex partners.
