The Unconstitutionality of the Grassroots Provision of the Legislative Transparency and Accountability Act of 2007     1/18/2007

Lobby reform shouldn't negate the rights of normal citizens.

Congress needs ethical reform, but their version would restrict your rights to know about and discuss any legislation with them.

A lobby reform bill now under consideration contains a very real and serious threat that would restrict Americans’ constitutional right to learn about pending bills and contact their congressmen about them.

Please contact your representatives immediately and urge them to vote in favor of the Bennett Amendment to the Legislative Transparency and Accountability Act of 2007. You can reach the Capitol switchboard number at 202-224-3121.

Click here for information from the Free Speech Coalition showing that restrictions on grassroots activism are unconstitutional and do not belong under lobby reform legislation meant to clean up Congress.
