Illinois Civil Union Bill Promoted as ‘Religious Protection’      3/29/2007



The Illinois Religious Freedom Protection and Civil Unions Bill, H.B. 1826, is being debated by state legislators. While sponsors market this bill under the banner of “religious protection” Peter LaBarbera, head of Americans for Truth and Real Civil Rights Illinois, says that the bill actually harms religious freedom and places another mandate on businesses.
