Attorney General Paul Morrison Should Resign for the Sake of the Integrity of the Office     12/11/2007

Leawood, Kansas - Concerned Women for America of Kansas calls for Attorney General Paul Morrison’s immediate resignation in light of recently revealed facts concerning the tarnishing of the integrity of the office of Attorney General.

“Attorney General Paul Morrison should resign his office immediately in light of the allegations made against him not only in his admitted participation in an extra-marital affair but also in his apparent abuse of power while acting as the chief law enforcement officer in the state,” states Judy Smith, State Director of Concerned Women for America of Kansas. “Not only has he violated his marriage vows, he allegedly has acted in a manner that would make the citizens of Kansas distrustful of an office that is required to uphold the law, not circumvent it,” Smith said.

Wendy Wright, president of Concerned Women for America, states that, “For the integrity of the office of Attorney General, Paul Morrison needs to resign. Kansans will lose respect for the office of Attorney General if Morrison continues in that role. Morrison must put the needs of the citizens above his own personal ambitions. The trust that Kansans put in their highest law enforcement official can only continue if he is replaced. If Morrison does not resign, it will be difficult for any American to respect the office of Attorney General of Kansas.”
