San Diego Firefighters Win Sexual Harassment Lawsuit 2/18/2009 Click for more multimedia content.
Two years ago, four San Diego, California firefighters were ordered to participate in the city's "gay" pride parade by Fire-Rescue Chief Tracy Jarman, an open lesbian. Following this event, the firefighters filed a lawsuit against the city for sexual harassment claiming they were in a hostile work environment. This week a jury reached a verdict in favor of the firefighters. Due to the city's financial situation the firefighters will split the $34,300 award for damages, but the four firemen say they are happy with that since their goal was to prevent other firefighters from facing similar situations. Matt Barber, Director of Cultural Affairs for the Liberty Counsel and Liberty Alliance Action reacts to this story and discusses what it means for civil servants nationwide who could easily face similar situations.
