Pro-Life Youth Prepare for Fourth Annual “Wash for Life”     3/27/2009
By Demi Bardsley

The fourth annual “Wash for Life” will be held on September 19, 2009, to raise money for pregnancy care centers and post-abortion ministries nationwide.

The event is a great opportunity for youth to get involved in the pro-life movement. Groups can sign up now to hold a car wash in their area on September 19, the proceeds of which will go to a local pro-life ministry of their choice. This is a wonderful organized effort to raise money and raise support for pro-life ministries.

As of March 23, there are 122 groups who will be washing cars on September 19. Twenty-nine states are represented thus far. To sign your group up to hold a car wash, or to find a Wash for Life car wash in your area, visit www.washforlife.org.

According to the organization’s website, a group of six students from Thomas Aquinas College started Wash for Life in 2006. Since then, the organization has helped groups raise over $146,000 for pregnancy care centers nationwide.

According to Jonathan Tonkowich, director of Wash for Life:

“We believe that our generation can help our country in powerful ways. America was not built by people sitting back and letting the government fix all our problems. Instead, it was built by people who took action and tried make a better community in which to live. We think that an important way to oppose abortion is by creating communities that love and care for women and children.”
