National Day of Prayer 2009     5/22/2009
By Colleen Nolan

Diane Tillery

Diane Tillery of CWA Illinois hosted this year's National Day of Prayer at Danada House in Wheaton, Illinois.  Danada House is the sprawling 1939 country home of horse farm owners Dan and Ada Rice.  Roughly 250 people participated in praise and prayer to Almighty God.  Guest speakers for the event, among others, included State's Attorney Joe Birkett, Moody Bible professor of theology, Gregg Quiggle, and Roy Patterson, WMBI Community Relations Producer and host of AM 1110's Urban Praise program.  There was song, music and praise to God but also much prayer, longing and beseeching for our nation.

We are so thankful that Illinois still considers National Day of Prayer a significant event.  It is impressive that states continue to honor God and pray for this nation on such an important and historical day for our citizens.  May we all hold the President up in prayer at this time.
