A Look At Health Care Reform Legislation      6/18/2009

Congress is working on a health care reform package sponsored by Senator Edward Kennedy, D-Massachusetts. The measure has many troubling aspects that Amy Meneffee, Policy Advisor for Patients First, says will certainly increase health care costs, and could possibly cause millions of Americans to loose the health care choices they currently enjoy. CWA's Director of Legislation and Public Policy Shari Rendall adds that plans currently before the Senate could lead to the government dictating that all insurance plans cover abortion, forcing health care workers to perform abortions, and/or the rationing and denying health care for the elderly or medically fragile newborns. Patients must make their voices heard before these provisions are enacted. Call your Senators today at 202-224-3121 and join with Patients First at www.JoinPatientsFirst.com.
