Americans in Washington DC will protest in solidarity with Spain's pro-lifers against a bill to liberalize Spain's abortion law.
On Tuesday, October 13, Spanish Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero will be at the White House to meet with President Obama.
Prime Minister Zapatero is backing a bill that would liberalize Spain's abortion laws. Among the bill's provisions:
- permitting 16 year olds to get abortions without parental consent,
- allowing unrestricted abortion for up to 14 weeks gestation, and
- changing abortion from a crime to a right.
Pro-lifers in Spain will hold a March for Life on October 17. On Oct. 13, pro-lifers in the U.S. will gather across from the White House to protest the liberalization of Spain's abortion laws. "We can join our Spanish pro-life friends in spirit and body and build momentum for their march by protesting Zapatero when he's here," said CWA President Wendy Wright.
Concerned Women for America and other pro-life groups will have t-shirts, caps and signs featuring Spanish pro-life slogans. Pictures of the event will be sent to our Spanish friends.
Please join CWA and other pro-life groups at 10 a.m. at Lafayette Park, located at the corner of Pennsylvania Ave. and Jackson Place, N.W., Washington, D.C.
