ObamaCare and the Doctor Shortage     10/20/2009
By CWA Staff

Radical politicians are ramming ObamaCare through Congress. Written behind closed doors, this secret bill (even the committee members who voted on it haven't seen the real bill) would change our health care system as we know it. One thing is for sure: it will lead to higher costs, rationing of health care, the funding of elective abortions, and will drive pro-life doctors out of the profession.

We cannot remain silent. Concerned Women for America recognizes that the quality health care that the vast majority of Americans currently enjoy is endangered. Politicians are devising schemes to push this bill through quickly. They are trying to ignore the millions of Americans who are concerned that it will trample on our beliefs and values. Congress needs to hear our voices; we must speak out now.

Congress needs a wake-up call. Concerned Women for America asks you to make calls each day this week on a specific topic to specific Members of Congress. Your voice can make a difference! Together we can be heard. The Congressmen that we ask you to call may hold the power to determine if the ObamaCare bill will pass. Even though they may not be your Congressmen, their decision affects the whole country. Please call ASAP! Please sit down at your phone and make these calls now.

ObamaCare will cause a severe doctor shortage.

Evidence:

  • A poll by Investors Business Daily/TIPP poll reports that two-thirds of doctors "oppose the proposed health care plan."
  • That same poll indicates that almost half would "consider leaving their practice or taking an early retirement" if the nebulous [nobody has seen a bill yet] ObamaCare passes.
  • An Association of American Medical Colleges survey predicts a doctor shortage of 150,000 (at current rates of population growth) by 2025 if universal health insurance is adopted.
  • Even Sen. Max Baucus' "moderate" bill (like the other bills) includes cuts to Medicare and Medicaid that would directly affect hospitals and doctors.
  • According to a 2005 Community Tracking Physician survey, more than half the nation's doctors now don't accept Medicaid because of government "red tape" and patient overload.

CALL THESE MEMBERS OF CONGRESS TODAY to register your complaint about the possible doctor shortage from ObamaCare.

  • Explain that the majority of doctors oppose ObamaCare and will consider closing their practice if it becomes law.
  • Explain that there will be a potential doctor shortage if ObamaCare is put into law.
