Obamacare Line: What a phone call for health care may sound like in the near future

Under Speaker Pelosi's latest health care bill (p.110), the public health insurance option is required to provide coverage for abortion. And, in a most bizarre way, the bill provides that nothing prevents them from funding abortions for which public funding is prohibited! You can understand why abortionists are so excited about supporting the government take over of healthcare. Click here for more.

Because the government has the regulatory power, it has the ability control the market and drive out competition. Stifling competition not only affects prices, which the government of course can make up with taxes, but it also can affect the quality of care. Some argue the government is putting some restrictions to prevent itself from doing that, but that is a very dangerous proposition that will basically be driven by whoever is in power. Click here for more.

Because of the amorphous standards delineated under current health care legislation, which included "standards, as appropriate, for the collection of accurate data on health and health care" based on "sex, sexual orientation [and] gender identity"— Obamacare may provide cosmetic "gender reassignment" surgeries for those who suffer from the APA recognized "Gender Identity Disorder" free of charge, courtesy of the American taxpayer. Click here for more.

Not only are your medical records at risk under Obamacare, but your financial records too. The proposed bill expressly gives a new Health Choices Commissioner the right to look at an individual's tax return to determine what medical benefits or subsidies that person qualifies for. Click here for more.

Under Obamacare, you could face substantial fines and even punishment for violating the plan's mandatory insurance requirement. It looks like the IRS may play enforcer for President Obama and the Democrats, even deciding if your insurance coverage is acceptable or not. Click here for more.

If the Obamacare is so great, why don't Members of Congress want it for them and their families? Rep. Dean Heller (R-NV) offered an amendment that would have required Members of Congress to get their health insurance through the proposed government-run plan. Needless to say, the amendment was killed in committee. Click here for more.

Rationing care is inevitable under Obamacare. And those who are more vulnerable, like the elderly, will find their care restricted the most. Click here for more.

Under Obamacare, abortion providers like Planned Parenthood could be the official government "community provider" for clinics at or near schools. Click here for more.
