Are traditional marriage as designed by God and the ability to raise your children in the admonition of the Lord a priority to you? Join the campaign to defend marriage as between one man and one woman and to defend parental rights.
In September, 2009, two amendments were submitted to the House and Senate for their vote; their vote will decide if YOU the citizen have the opportunity to vote to place these amendments into our State Constitution in 2010. In other words, we have to insist that our House and Senate members vote in support of placing these amendments on the ballot. This will be the third time a marriage amendment has been proposed and the second time an amendment on parental rights has been proposed. A vote by the House and Senate is expected sometime in March and/or April.
A public hearing will be held in January. Please plan to attend and voice your opinion. More information on the date and location of the hearing will be forthcoming.
Our state constitution in Article 38 provides for the citizens to assemble and gather together to consult upon the common good and give instructions to their elected representatives on how to vote on a particular piece of legislation. This is not a referendum effort, but it is a constitutional effort; in New Hampshire, citizens do not have the right to binding petition or referendum.
The following documents have been developed by Citizens Leadership of New Hampshire to facilitate the people’s voice on these amendments. Please download, sign and mail back to the address on the bottom of the form. It is important to fill out all of the information so that your signature will not be questioned in the verification process.
Anyone ages 13 and above may sign these documents.
