The event was timed to coincide with the annual sadomasochistic “International Mr. Leather” celebration, which reportedly drew up to 2,000 “leathermen” to the Hyatt Regency Chicago hotel May 23-27. Pro-family activists in the Chicago area had alerted law enforcement and health authorities to the events and noted the potential health hazard. (One IML participant died from an apparent drug overdose, C&F Report has learned.) The “pig” event was advertised as being held from late on Friday night, May 24 until the early hours of the next morning. It was devoted to homosexual men who practice condomless sodomy, known in homosexual slang as “barebacking,” and the most extreme and perverse acts of the sadistic “leather” subculture — including “fisting.” Chicago vice police were notified about both the main IML event and the “pig” orgy, which was not officially linked to IML. A Chicago source informed Culture & Family Report that Chicago undercover police were on hand at the IML gathering. Miller Brewing Company was listed as an official sponsor of IML, continuing its policy of sponsoring sadomasochistic celebrations. Miller sponsors the sadistic “Folsom Street Fair” held every year in downtown San Francisco. On a pornographic homosexual Web site devoted to helping men “cruise” for anonymous sexual encounters (in specific locations such as public restrooms and parks all across the globe), men who would be attending the IML event and “pig sex” orgy posted bulletin-board solicitations for encounters with other men in the Chicago area. |
