Where Does CWA Stand on the Miers Nomination?      9/29/2005


Harriet Miers has been nominated by President Bush to fill the seat of departing Justice Sandra Day O’Connor. At this point, the burden of proof has shifted to the White House to demonstrate that Miers is well qualified. Jan LaRue, CWA’s Chief Counsel, has drafted a memo on what CWA needs to know before we could support the nomination.
