Federal Court OKs Profanity on Broadcast TV



In a challenge brought by the major television networks against fines levied by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in New York has said that the FCC should not fine “fleeting” use of the “f-word” and the “s-word.” The case stems from several instances, mostly during live broadcast award shows, where celebrities like Bono and Nichole Richie used profanity in their acceptance speeches.
