Good Mothers Choose Adoption

Good mothers are women who make the best choices for their child. Given that fact, when a woman is unable to provide her child with a stable, two-parent household, choosing to place her child for adoption is being a good mother. A new public service message is being launched by the National Council for Adoption aimed at helping women overcome the feelings of abandonment and see that choosing an option based on their child's best interest makes them good mothers. Campaign resources provide inquiring women with more information about adoption and are also made available to pregnancy care centers and counselors, in an effort to help them aid women thinking through this very difficult and personal decision. Tom Atwood, President and CEO of the National Council for Adoption shares more about this campaign, the status of infant adoption, adoption of older children from orphanages and foster care, and international adoption.
