House Hearing on Homosexuals in the Military Just for Show

On July 23, the House Armed Services Committee held a hearing on the repeal of the law banning homosexuals from serving openly in the military. However during this hearing, those in favor of keeping the 1993 law were treated disrespectfully, interrupted and challenged with personal questions about their own sexuality and racial views. Martha Kleder speaks with Elaine Donnelly, President of The Center for Military Readiness, who says that this treatment is an example of the kind of treatment conservative and traditionally-minded military members will face should homosexuals be allowed to serve openly in our military. What can you do? Elaine adds that citizens must contact their elected representatives, especially if they are members of the two Armed Services Committees, and express their support of current law.
