Marriage License Rejected Over the Words "Bride" and "Groom"

The fallout from the California Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex "marriages" continues. In Placer County, state bureaucrats rejected a marriage license submitted by Pastor Doug Bird on behalf of a couple that wrote the words "Bride" and "Groom" next to the official terms "Party A" and "Party B" printed on the license. The state claims that the inclusion of the words "bride" and "groom" are an "unacceptable alteration" of the marriage license. Matt Barber, Director of Cultural Affairs for the Liberty Counsel and Associate Dean of Liberty University School of Law, says this action by the California State Office of Vital Records shows that traditional couples will see their marriages affected by this ruling. He adds there are many more laws and documents that will soon be altered by the state, barring the passage of Proposition 8 in November. And he adds that this trend could easily spread across the nation if citizens don't act now to stop it. Listen | Download
