The Fairness Doctrine Revival

Those citizens that depend on the major, mainstream broadcast news for their information are largely in the dark about the Fairness Doctrine. The concept has been around for decades and was the law at one point shortly after World War II during Harry S. Truman's presidency. Dr. Kenneth Hill, CEO and general manager of five radio stations affiliated with the Appalachian Educational Communication Corporation, a Bristol, Tennessee-based Christian radio chain, shares from his career in broadcasting and his experience as a theologian, just how a reinstatement of the Fairness Doctrine will jeopardize our freedom to share the Gospel through broadcasting…even through Internet communications. He adds that the incoming Obama administration is paying closer attention to this issue and the role of the Federal Communications Commission, than any incoming president in modern history. For more information on this topic, Dr. Hill has written the book Assault on Liberty: The Rebirth of the Fairness Doctrine. Listen | Download
