HHS Issues Rule Protecting Rights of Choice and Conscience



The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has issued long-awaited rules that protect health care providers' right of conscience as well patients' right of choice. By reinforcing laws that have been on the books since the 1970's - yet under attack by pro-abortion forces - HHS clarified that medical professionals cannot be forced to perform abortions, administer abortion-inducing drugs, or refer patients to others for that service. CWA President Wendy Wright says the flip side of that rule is that patients retain the right and the freedom to choose healthcare providers that mirror their values. Listen | Download
