HHS Issues Rule Protecting Rights of Choice and Conscience

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has issued long-awaited rules that protect health care providers' right of conscience as well patients' right of choice. By reinforcing laws that have been on the books since the 1970's - yet under attack by pro-abortion forces - HHS clarified that medical professionals cannot be forced to perform abortions, administer abortion-inducing drugs, or refer patients to others for that service.
