Chaplain Opposes "Anti-Jesus" Judge Hamilton
![]() |
President Obama has nominated Judge David Hamilton to the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, which covers Wisconsin, Indiana, and Illinois. Judge Hamilton is a former fundraiser for ACORN, and the former leader of the Indiana chapter of the ACLU. His judicial opinions track with his political affiliations as well. In 2005 he ruled that official prayers that mention Jesus or use the word "Savior" were an illegal endorsement of religion. On the other hand, he ruled that prayers made in the name of "Allah" were legal. Because of this, Chaplain Gordan James Klingenschmitt is working to stop Hamilton's confirmation. Chaplain Klingenschmitt, the former Navy Chaplain who lost his job for praying in Jesus' name, now heads Pray in Jesus Name Ministries that is working to defend the religious rights of chaplains across the nation. Martha Kleder spoke with Chaplain Klingenschmitt about this nominee and what concerned citizens can do to oppose his confirmation. Listen | Download
