Protecting Veteran's Memorials

This Memorial Day you can do something to show our military service men and women that you appreciate their sacrifices. Across the nation veteran's memorials are under attack from the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) because they claim the presence of any religious symbol such as a cross or a Star of David on the public memorial is a government establishment of religion. One case, that of Salazar v. Buono - the Mohave Desert Memorial - is now before the U.S. Supreme Court. In support of veteran's memorials, the Liberty Legal Institute has joined with the leading veteran's organizations and Harry and Wanda Sandoz, the caretakers for the Mojave Desert Memorial in filing a brief before the court and launching a petition drive where citizens can thank and support our military veterans.
