FCC Issues Report on Media and Children



As part of the Child Safe Viewing Act of 2007, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) was ordered by Congress to provide an assessment on parental Internet blocking tools. Robert Peters, President of Morality in Media, has reviewed the report released this week and finds the report lacking in real answers for parents. Noting the broad spectrum of technologies that children have exposure to today, he agrees with the FCC that there many pitfalls to technical solutions. But unlike the FCC, which yet again placed the full burden on parents, Peters says the only satisfactory solution involves the law. Listen | Download
