Obama's National Address to School Children
![]() |
On Tuesday, President Obama addressed the nation's school children on what, for many, was the first day of school. Many parents, distrustful of the administration's intent, expressed concern to their local school officials, requested that their children be allowed to opt-out of the assembly, and some even held their children out of school for the day. Matt Barber, Director of Cultural Affairs for Liberty Counsel and Liberty Alliance Action says parents had every reason to be concerned, given the administration's actions of stepping over local school boards, and injecting a federally-crafted companion lesson plan into the mix. He adds that this is likely just the first of many future attempts by this administration to get around parents in its efforts to reach children.Listen | Download
