
Washington, D.C. Schools Conduct STD Screening Without Parental Consent

Using the city's high rate of HIV infections as an excuse, Washington, D.C. school officials have begun doing STD screening and treatment on students without parental consent. The program mirrors similar programs in New York, Chicago, New Orleans and Baltimore, but only Washington, D.C. and Baltimore don't require parental consent.
