Cloture Stopped, Nomination Withdrawn!

Controversial nominee to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, Goodwin Liu, saw his confirmation vote successfully blocked in the U.S. Senate. But the threat remained that Liu's nomination could be brought up again. Now, that has been successfully defeated as well, as Goodwin Liu has withdrawn his nomination.
