Here Comes the Violation on our Religious Liberty

Nance: "The enactment of the Health and Human Services mandate is a direct infringement on our Religious Liberty."

Washington, D.C. - Concerned Women for America President and CEO Penny Nance has released the following statement in response to Obama-appointee Kathleen Sebelius' mandate to force Americans to violate their religious and moral convictions:

"Now practicing Christian and pro-life Americans are forced to subsidize other women's abortion-inducing drugs or sterilizations. Only a select few have been deemed 'religious enough' under this administration to deserve to be exempted from this mandate. A few others have been given a one-year reprieve until they are forced to violate their beliefs.

"The only solution that has been provided to the majority of Americans is to stand up and fight for their religious rights by refusing to comply or battling in court. The owners of Hercules Industries fought and initially won their battle when the court issued an injunction; they do not have to violate their religious beliefs or forfeit their livelihood, which is what the mandate is forcing millions of Americans to do starting tomorrow.

"We must remember the wise words of Thomas Jefferson, 'All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.'

"To force religious groups to deny their deeply held convictions is not called balance; it is called tyranny."
