CWALAC Praises House Judiciary and Energy and Commerce Committees’ Efforts to Investigate Abortion Clinics
Nance: “The American public has been brainwashed into believing that abortions in this country are safe simply because they are legal. Gosnell’s trial should be a wake-up call to Americans that this is not the case.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC) commends the House Judiciary and Energy and Commerce Committees for their efforts to investigate abortion clinic practices in light of the atrocities allegedly committed by abortionist Kermit Gosnell in the “House of Horrors” trial. In the wake of what was revealed by this trial, we call on Congress to safeguard our mothers and babies. Penny Nance, CWALAC’s CEO and President, said:

“We hail the House’s first step and call on them to pursue oversight hearings to learn more about the threat to women and babies resulting from the gruesome practices taking place in the abortion industry. In addition to a thorough review of our nation’s abortion laws, we need a thorough review of the enforcement process to ensure that women and children are not placed in the hands of butchers like Kermit Gosnell. It is unconscionable that nail salons and tattoo parlors have higher sanitary standards and inspection oversight than abortion clinics.

“The American public has been brainwashed into believing that abortions in this country are safe simply because they are legal. Gosnell’s trial should be a wake-up call to Americans that this is not the case. Gosnell is not an aberration, but actually commonplace in the industry, as undercover videos by Live Action have shown. Americans deserve to know about the stories of women like Tonya Reaves and Jennifer McKenna Morbelli, women killed at the hands of late-term abortionists.

“Gosnell’s trial has exposed the truth that many times babies’ lives are ended outside the womb if the termination inside is not ‘successful.’ Americans have known for a long time that one life ends at each abortion appointment, but they now must face the reality that mothers are being maimed and murdered at these so-called ‘women’s health clinics.’ This should rightly gain the indignation of our nation and put to rest once and for all the idea that abortion is safe because it is legal.”
