| Dear Friend,
Thank you for your support in our transition from a print publication to an electronic version. We're very excited about the possibilities, and over the next several issues you'll see things change -- they'll get even better!
For this current edition, we wanted to deal with the issue of truth. What is it? What does it mean to us? How does it guide what we do here at Concerned Women for America? Where did we as a nation go astray? And how can we get back on the right track? These questions and more were on our minds as we wrote for you. We hope you enjoy the fruits of our labor, and we certainly hope you'll find it worth forwarding to your friends and family. Please spread the word.
The Chairman's Desk http://www.cwfa.org/familyvoice/2008-07/chairmansdesk0708.pdf The main reason for the moral decay in our culture today comes from the loss of truth. Moral relativism has been seeping into our society for a long time and today it permeates our personal lives and many of the debates we face in Washington, D.C. It's time we get back to that essential principle of truth, and it must start in ourown personal lives. Read more ...
Face-to-Face With the Truth http://www.cwfa.org/familyvoice/2008-07/facetoface0708.pdf There He stood, hands tied behind his back, head slightly tilted down as in prayer, tired from events passed, and preoccupied by those to come. Truth Through the Lens of Faith http://www.cwfa.org/familyvoice/2008-07/faithlens0708.pdf It is common in our postmodern world to believe that "truth is relative." People today say, "Truth is whatever you believe." Some even say, "People who believe in absolute truth are dangerous." Yet the Bible is clear, "He is…a God of truth." (Deuteronomy 32:4) and, Jesus is "the truth" (John 14:6), He is "full of grace and truth" (John 1:14), and He tells "the truth" (John 8:45). Further, the Scriptures tell us that the Word of God is truth (John 17:17) and Christians should walk in the truth as revealed by Jesus, including living by the standard of morality that He taught (Ephesians 4:17-32 and 5:1-17). No "Right to Choose" for Pro-Life Doctors http://www.cwfa.org/familyvoice/2008-07/doctorsvsthelaw0708.pdf Rosa Acuna asked her doctor "if it was a baby in there." He answered, "Don't be stupid, it is nothing but blood." So Rosa had an abortion. Weeks later, bleeding, a hospital nurse told her, "The doctor left parts of the baby inside." Only then did she realize it was a baby, and not just blood, which the doctor removed. She sued him for lying to her. Read more ...
The Truth of His Presence http://www.cwfa.org/familyvoice/2008-07/presence0708.pdf As is sometimes the case, another article was being written to fill this page, but Charla Bansley, our State Director for CWA of Maine, sent along some timely thoughts on the presence of God. There is much truth in her words, and in the spirit of this edition, we pass them along to you for your consideration. Read more ...
From the President http://www.cwfa.org/familyvoice/2008-07/fromthepresident0708.pdf Beyond tolerance and acceptance, homosexual activists and militant Muslims seek to censor moral and religious views at odds with their own. Using speech codes, political correctness, and court orders, one viewpoint is targeted as "verboten." It's the one based on the teachings of the Bible. Read more ...
