Dear Friend,

Next week will be truly remarkable. Millions of people will converge on the nation's capital to attend the inauguration of Barack Obama, the man who has promised to change America by signing legislation that will destroy pro-life laws and enshrine abortion as a national right. Days later, those millions will be replaced by attendees of the March for Life, an annual event marking the destructive Supreme Court decision to impose abortion on America.

That juxtaposition will serve to define our fight — and that of the broader pro-life community — over the next four years. Like a pendulum, the balance of power will swing from a president who defended life to a president who seeks to allow for its destruction.

The focus of this edition of Family Voice is to help you understand what to expect from this new administration — and to prepare you for the task at hand.

As always, we'd love for you to circulate this edition to your friends and family. My God richly bless you during this time of transition.

Sincerely,

Beverly LaHaye
Founder and Chairman

FOCA: Freedom to Kill Act

No more extreme candidate has run for, much less won, the presidency. And he did it by claiming he wants to “reduce the number of abortions.” Now we face one of the greatest challenges of the pro-life movement. As a U.S. senator, Obama co-sponsored the Freedom of Choice Act and told Planned Parenthood in 2007 that his first act as president would be to sign it. Read more ...

Will a pastor be forced to join two homosexuals in marriage? Will a business owner be required to hire a man who wants to come to work dressed as a woman? Will we be able to express our faith in public? Can a doctor refuse to perform abortions? Can a pharmacist refuse to hand out the morning-after pill? Read more ...

From the President

Hollywood’s highest-paid screenwriter, Joe Eszterhas, wrote scripts filled with sex and violence, such as Basic Instinct. Then he underwent radical surgery to save his life. The shock to his body and will drove him to tears and voicelessly praying, “Please, God, help me.” And He did. Read more ...
