"It's wonderful to see you all here. It makes me feel as if the reinforcements have just arrived!"
President Ronald Reagan
1987 CWA National Convention
"President Reagan's death is a great personal loss to me-
not just because of the beliefs we held in common, but
because of the many ways our lives overlapped."
Mrs. Beverly LaHaye
Founder and Chairman
Concerned Women for America
n the summer of 2004, Concerned Women for America (CWA) launched a new era in our internship program. Following the passing of President Ronald Reagan in June, Mrs. LaHaye sought a fresh initiative to keep his heritage alive. And what better way to pass on his legacy than by inspiring young people with the vision that President Reagan carried … the vision that stirred hearts across America and encouraged them that, yes, we can have a better future, a free future, a future we can be glad to pass on to our children. It's for this reason and so many more that we are glad to announce the Ronald Reagan Memorial Internship Program.
This ain't no tea party.
Welcome to Washington. D.C. The morning commute rushes past the doors of the White House, and insiders spend days with State Department officials and Capitol Hill staffers. You network with experts embedded in the global details of U.S. social policy. One day at the office teaches you more about life than any college course could.
Be prepared.
This time, you'll do a lot more than filing. Ronald Reagan interns aren't your run-of-the-mill sort. We work on tough issues, and we want to teach you to tackle them. The six core issues of CWA are sanctity of life, religious liberty, definition of the family, pornography, education and national sovereignty. We're working to call America to pray and act to restore Biblical values among all citizens.
The Ronald Reagan internship with Concerned Women for America is an experience like no other. We are the nation's largest public policy women's organization, with half a million members and a respected influence at the state, federal and international levels. Your opportunities have just opened wide.
Catch the vision.
Can you see it? Families waking up all across America to the blessings of God's design…
"The vision of CWA is for women and like-minded men, from all walks of life, to come together and restore the family to its traditional purpose and thereby allow each member of the family to realize their God-given potential and be more responsible citizens."
What is it?
It's work. It's play. It's life in the big city. Every hour of every day, you'll get an intense, hands-on, real life experience that very few are fortunate enough to find. Our interns attend meetings with high-level government officials, lobby on Capitol Hill, research international social issues, and see their work circulating through professional publications.
CWA's mission is to protect and promote Biblical values among all citizensfirst through prayer, then education, and finally by influencing our societythereby reversing the decline in moral values in our nation.
Winter, summer, spring or fall, we accept intern applications for opportunities in our national office. In the summer, we tack on a group Bible study and a Biblical worldview class to interns' normal work routine. But no matter when you come, you'll get an experience you'll never forget.
