Dear Friend,

Our country desperately needs prayer. In times past, Americans set aside time to collectively seek God on behalf of our nation.

Now is one of those times.

This Thursday, November 19, 2009, Concerned Women for America (CWA) is calling for a National Day of Fasting, Repentance, and Prayer for America. Join CWA members around the country as we pray for God's mercy in preparation for Thanksgiving week.

CWA was founded on prayer first and then action. It is through prayer that we can ultimately make a difference in our culture. We depend on God for everything that we do, and at this time of so much chaos in our country and around the world, we must depend on God to give us guidance and strength to do His will.

As we enter the season of Thanksgiving, let's remember what the holiday is about. Let's remember to Whom we are thankful - God, our provider, comforter, rock, and Father.

George Washington knew what the country needed when he wrote the first Thanksgiving Proclamation. He said, "[I]t is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favour…"

So I invite you to join CWA this Thursday and spread the word.

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. - II Chronicles 7:14

Grace and mercy be with you. And thanks be to God!
