Penny Nance Responds to President’s Approval Rating Among Women and Latest Colorado ObamaCare Ad

Nance: “Given how that voting bloc gave [the President] an edge in 2012 … women are becoming increasingly fed up. This Administration doesn’t get us.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. –– The numbers from a Quinnipiac Poll released yesterday find President Obama’s approval rating at the lowest since he took office and report that Americans do not think the Affordable Care Act (a.k.a., ObamaCare) will improve health care in America. The numbers with regards to women are especially surprising, given how that voting bloc gave him an edge in 2012. Penny Young Nance, CEO and President of Concerned Women for America, responded today:

“Women make eighty percent of the health care decisions in this country and incur sixty percent of the cost at a doctor’s office. It makes perfect sense that they are particularly attuned to the failures of the Affordable Care Act. Turns out we care about more than just ‘free’ birth control. It’s bad enough if our premiums increase or we lose coverage. However, it’s not just about us. The health of our entire families matters to us. If our family premiums increase and bust the monthly budget, we care. If our college-age son is asked to pay double at a time when he least can afford it, we care. If our husband’s employer stops offering health insurance, we care. Women are not monolithic. Neither are we an isolated and segregated group.

“In addition, the disrespectful tone of the ads by Progress Now Colorado are breathtakingly demeaning to women. Is this who they think we are? Sure, some women have libertine views of sexuality, but to promote that view using money that essentially came from the taxpayers is absurd. Few credentialed health professionals believe that sexual promiscuity by either gender is healthy due to both STDs and even mental health concerns. So why would the Obama Administration give money to an organization that seeks to promote unhealthy living in order to promote the Affordable Care Act? This is why women are becoming increasingly fed up. This Administration doesn’t get us.”
