D-Day, 60th Anniversary

Listen

Sunday marks 60 years since our nation’s young men stormed onto the beaches of Normandy to preserve freedom. Of the some 9,000 men killed that day, 19 hailed from the small mountain town of Bedford, Virginia; a proportionally devastating loss for the town. Today, Bedford is the home of the National D-Day Memorial. Policy Analyst Martha Kleder spoke with Shannon Brooks, assistant site manager and tour coordinator for the memorial.
