Abortion Conscience-Protection Amendment Passes Committee

Rep. Dave Weldon (R-Florida) offered the important amendment to the Labor, Health and Human Services Appropriations bill to shield health care providers from government coercion to perform or participate in abortions. This amendment marks a victory for the pro-life medical community and is especially good news for health-care professionals who conscientiously object to committing or recommending abortions.

Concerned Women for America (CWA) was instrumental to this victory by lobbying key committee members until the amendment passed. CWA’s Vice-President for Government Relations, Mike Schwartz has more.
