Seattle Judge Rules State DOMA Unconstitutional

King County Superior Court Judge William L. Downing has ruled that Washington state’s definition of marriage violated the constitutional rights of the state’s homosexual couples. In his opinion, Downing wrote that a definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman “constitutes a denial of substantive due process.” Martha Kleder has this report with Robert Knight, director of CWA’s Culture and Family Institute.
