Florida Judge Rules Private School Vouchers Unconstitutional
Listen
A 1st District Court of Appeals judge has ruled unconstitutional, Florida’s law that provides private school vouchers to children in failing schools. That ruling was based on the provision that allows parents to choose private religious schools. The 1999 law was a key provision of Gov. Jeb Bush’s education initiative. The battle is not over however, as the case now goes to the Florida Supreme Court. Martha Kleder talks with Clark Neily, senior attorney for the
Institute for Justice, who is defending the voucher program.
