Using Prostitutes Illegal under DOD Proposal

Pending changes to the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) would make it a crime for military members to use the services of a prostitute. The offense could result in dishonorable discharge and up to a year in jail. However, the punishment for engaging in prostitution is much higher for all involved. Martha Kleder spoke with CWA’s Senior Policy Director Wendy Wright about how prostitution goes hand-in-hand with human trafficking and is taking its toll on military families.
