Pentagon Cuts Deal With ACLU; Cuts Out the Boy Scouts (8:40)
Listen
The Pentagon has issued a letter to all military bases both stateside and overseas that they can no longer sponsor Boy Scout troops. The edict is the result of a settlement with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of an ongoing lawsuit. That lawsuit also challenges all federal funds given to the Boy Scouts, and expenditures incurred when bases like Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia, host the Boy Scout Jamboree. Martha Kleder has more on this story with Robert Knight, director of the Culture and Family Institute.
