On January 22, 2003, President Bush nominated Jerry Thacker, a Christian man with an AIDS ministry, to the presidential AIDS panel. The following day, The Washington Post severely mischaracterized Thacker as describing AIDS as a ‘gay plague.’ Within a few hours, Thacker withdrew his name after being assailed by homosexual groups, liberal media and White House spokesman Ari Fleischer. Although CWA has been working tirelessly to defend this good man, the national media is just now catching on. Last night, Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly gave Thacker a chance to defend himself on national television. If you missed it last night, you’ll hear it today on this edition of Concerned Women Today.
