Embryonic Stem Cell Research Pushed in Reagan’s Name

Even though research shows that a cure for Alzheimers will likely not be found through stem cells, fourteen Republican Senators have joined forty eight Democrat Senators and one independent in urging President Bush to lift the ban on embryonic stem cell research. The request is being made in the name of former President Reagan, but is this a position consistent with the late President’s clearly articulated views on unborn life? Martha Kleder speaks with CWA’s Senior Policy Director Wendy Wright on the subject.
