Republican Defections Aid Passage of Hate Crimes in the Senate

The U.S. Senate has voted to add homosexuality to the federal hate crimes law. Using the disabled as a wedge, Senator Ted Kennedy, D-Massachusetts, was able to sway Republicans to vote for passage. Martha Kleder has more with Robert H. Knight, the director of CWA’s Culture and Family Institute.
