Listen | More on this broadcast

Phil Burress, Jan LaRue and Bruce Taylor
Janet M. LaRue, J.D., CWA’s Chief Counsel, shares the latest information about obscenity enforcement, including a new resource for finding hotels without hard-core pornography, the FCC and indecency, and recent fights for legislation to protect children.

Phil Burress, President of Citizens for Community Values, discusses the three prongs necessary to eliminate pornography from any community: 1) strong law enforcement, 2) dedicated elected officials, and 3) committed citizens. He also shares how this combination model proved effective in Cincinnati, where evidence of pornography is almost nonexistent.

Bruce Taylor, Senior Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Division at the Department of Justice, provides and inside look on obscenity laws and prosecutions as faced by the U.S. Department of Justice.
