Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA)
Senator Arlen Specter, R-Pennsylvania, is in line to become the next Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee – a post often handed out based on seniority. But Sen. Specter has made public comments that he would not approve any judicial nominees who would undermine the “right” to abortion, a position that would undermine the Bush administration’s plans to finally move nominees to the federal judiciary.
